This is a screenshot tutorial for porting a number from an inactive Tracfone to a new/used Tracfone.

You will only be porting the number from the old phone. If there were minutes on the old phone when it expired and it has been less than 60 days and you want to recover those minutes, you will have to reactivate the phone by adding an airtime card to it. This process will not transfer the minutes to the new phone. Once you port the number from the old phone to a new phone you can then go through the reactivation process on the old phone and reactivate it with a new number and any remaining minutes less than 60 days old will be recovered with the reactivation. If your old phone is a gsm phone then a new sim card will be needed for reactivation. The system will prompt you for this action and direct you to call CS for a new sim card during the reactivation process.

If your "new" Tracfone is a used phone then you will have to add an airtime card when you complete the port process and activate the "new" phone.

If  for some reason your Tracfone was rendered inactive by Tracfone, you can use this process to port your old number to a new phone.

Start at the Tracfone Home Page

You will be assigned a case number for you port request.

Go to the Tracfone Tech Support Page and enter your case number to check the status of the port.

The second part of the process, which is the activation of the phone, will be posted shortly.
